a great surprise that will make your life easier

easier, great, Life, surprise

As part of its traditional GeForce NOW Thursday, NVIDIA had a big announcement to make to users of Valve’s famous Steam Deck.

The Steam Deck is therefore likely to continue to grow in popularity. NVIDIA is actually making the launch of its flagship cloud gaming solution on the PC/portable console hybrid much easier. Although this is a beta feature, it will allow Valve’s device to increase its versatility.

The Steam Deck connects more easily to the NVIDIA cloud

Although it was already possible to access GeForce NOW via the Steam Deck, the exercise was still a bit tricky. With the usual gaming announcements surrounding its flagship Cloud Gaming service, NVIDIA had good news for mobile PC gamers. Thanks to a script (still in beta) developed specifically for the device by Valve, it is now possible to automatically install a Google Chrome browser to configure GeForce NOW.

On paper, this allows you to access the NVIDIA service without having to go through Steam Deck desktop mode. The script is actually designed to work in basic mode. This complements a GeForce NOW update that rolled out last week. This made the application easier to use with a controller. It will therefore be easier than ever to play non-Steam games. As a bonus, at least Ultimate subscribers can benefit from this with performance equivalent to a PC with RTX 4080. Of course, the prerequisite is that you have an excellent internet connection.

This indirectly allows access to compatible games from Battle.Net, the Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect and other platforms from the base mode of the Steam Deck. Otherwise, access to it had to be done via the device’s desktop mode. But that meant you had to dock it to connect a keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately, the console controller alone is not enough to use the desktop.
