Ahead of its release on January 16, 2025 on PC, Assetto Corsa EVO reveals one of its new features. A feature that should spice up your travels.
Assetto Corsa EVO has been a long time coming, but the developers should still offer a simulation whose secret they know from what we saw at Gamescom 2024. Aspiring drivers can definitely discover it on PC starting January 16, 2025 with the release of early access. A version 1.0 that is said to include more than 50 vehicles, a 24-hour day/night cycle and fully customizable dynamic weather, among other features. The plan is definitely to support the game with new features over several years.
A big novelty for Assetto Corsa EVO
“We developed a completely new engine because we want to manage the technology behind Assetto Corsa.” said Marco Massarutto, co-founder and managing director of Kunos Simulazioni. An engine that allows physics, the weather and its effects on the terrain and therefore on driving, for example, to evolve. But a highly anticipated new feature has been confirmed and fans are going to love it. During a live presentation at the ADAC Sim Racing Expo 2024, Massarutto announced: Free roam mode for Assetto Corsa EVO.
An addition made possible by the new Assetto Corsa EVO engine to offer virtual drivers « a very large map and hundreds of kilometers of road ». Not bad? Yes, but that’s not the only surprise. During his speech about Free Roam mode, the co-founder also revealed the existence of a procedural technology for plotting. This means that the next Assetto Corsa game will have the ability to randomly generate roads. A lot more open circuits that will be based on the content of this episode in particular.
A work that will be followed for many years to come. « Assetto Corsa was built from the ground up with a different structure that will allow us to support the game for many years to comeand the way we work reflects what we want to achieve.”. And finally there should be a career mode. « We don’t just want to create a career mode, but something that is the role-playing game for car enthusiasts ».
