A highly anticipated update is here, but…

anticipated, But, highly, update

Baldur’s Gate 3 welcomes a brand new update today that some players are particularly waiting for. However, be careful, it is not suitable for everyone.

Time passes at breakneck speed. It’s been over a year since Baldur’s Gate 3 caused a real tidal wave. The 20 long years of hope have paid off and Larian Studios has achieved the impossible: exceeding all of the community’s expectations. The phenomenon was unstoppable and the CRPG won almost every award at every ceremony. On the other hand, there is no question for teams to limit themselves to what is expected of them. Baldur’s Gate 4 will pass into other hands as the Belgian studio works on two different games. Until then, part of the staff is still monitoring the game and a new, somewhat special update has arrived.

Baldur’s Gate 3 PS5 Pro patch available

There was no shortage of BG3 patches this year. A year later, the Belgians continue to perfect the CRPG experience and add new features. A few features like photo mode are still missing, but the most requested ones are now integrated. Patch 7 of Baldur’s Gate 3 is proof of this, with the implementation of mod support allowing players to enjoy all the madness on both PC and consoles. However, the new update deployed on November 7, 2024 is limited to certain people only. With all the news of the day, it probably hasn’t escaped your notice that the PS5 Pro is available. Games are patching themselves up one by one, and it’s Baldur’s Gate 3’s turn to provide its own patch.

This new patch therefore brings some changes to the quality and performance modes for those who have opted for the PS5 Pro and fixes some bugs related to multiplayer for everyone. Without further ado, here are all the improvements this Baldur’s Gate 3 patch brings:

Improvements on PS5 Pro

  • On PS5 Pro: Quality mode now runs in native 4K (2160p) at 30 frames per second
  • On PS5 Pro: Performance mode now switches from 1440p to 2160p at 60 fps
  • Split-screen mode on PS5 Pro now offers either 30 or 60 fps, depending on whether Quality or Performance mode is selected

Problems and crashes

  • Fixed an issue on PS5 that prevented you from downloading or following mods when joining a multiplayer game that had mods enabled.
