Has Ubisoft given a first look at what the game Assassin’s Creed Red has in store for us in Japan? A Valhalla DLC pack just cast doubt.
The publisher is going to fulfill some players’ imaginations with Assassin’s Creed Red, but does it live up to that?
Assassin’s Creed Red, a teaser launch?
A recent post on Assassin’s Creed Twitter account questions. In the latter, Ubisoft highlights a DLC pack for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and not just any. This is the Yurei Bushido Pack that features samurai armor and weapons. The exact legend “Imported by a black market trader, this collection of artifacts once belonged to a famous oriental warrior.”.
What is fascinating is that it is not in the editor’s habit to focus so much on such “thin” content. For some, it would be a reference to Assassin’s Creed Red, the franchise’s first game in Japan.
This episode is still very secret, every communication from Ubi will be checked carefully. So for now we know that AC Red will take place in feudal Japan and players will usually still have their choice of genre. One or a shinobi. The already awaited title will also copy Ghost of Tsushima in one essential point, fidelity. To ensure this culture is represented with respect, Ubisoft would bring in Japanese consultants to “to protect interest in authenticity and cultural sensitivity”.
Assassin’s Creed Red doesn’t have a release window, but it’s rumored that it won’t be out until 2024. An estimate that may not take into account the turbulence the software is already in and could slow down development.
