The PS5 is getting a big new free game tonight from a license everyone’s been waiting for, and it looks seriously impressive. Thrill seekers beware.
If there’s one thing we didn’t expect in this State of Play, it’s the announcement of the release of a very big free game that we’ve been eagerly awaiting. . Well, in reality, as is often the case, everything was leaked long before Sony’s online event, but we’re going to fake a surprise. In any case, we will not hide our joy at finding a license whose return is highly anticipated: Silent Hill.
A big new free game for PS5, available now!
Yes, you read that right, Silent Hill gives us a nice gift to celebrate its big return. And when you say gift, you of course say free. In addition to the Silent Hill 2 remake and its trailer, the license made headlines with a welcome little treat. As mentioned a while ago, Konami has decided to spice things up with a particularly intense horror experience to herald the arrival of its next Silent Hill. Silent Hill: The Short Message releases for free on PS5 tonight. A “Shadowdrop”
The game, obviously presented as a fairly short experience, puts us in the shoes of a young girl endowed with certain gifts that give her as much power as a nightmare. She searches for one of her friends in a building that, although seemingly abandoned, seems to be haunted by a demonic presence. A terribly creepy creature (yes, even through the trailer it’s frightening) will visibly be on his trail. Now we just need to figure out why, and that’s your problem now.
On many levels, this new game carries the risk of surprises. The atmosphere itself looks completely crazy and visually it seems to have been really successful. The icing on the cake is that it will represent a great first for the franchise, as the game is visibly set in a subjective perspective, like Resident Evil 7 and Village or PT. And we don’t talk about the latter for nothing. Hmmm.
