Hades 2 has been released in Early Access since May 6th and is receiving its third patch, which is as extensive as Mount Olympus and includes numerous changes at all levels.
If it doesn’t add fundamentally new features like the previous major patch, this one drastically changes Hades 2’s gameplay through a lot of adjustments and balancing. Supergiant Games also took the opportunity to refine the game interface and fix a lot of bugs. Here’s a summary of the changes made to the promising indie game, courtesy of Hermes.
A huge new patch for Hades 2
Like the first Hades of this name, the second work was released in Early Access on May 6th. It is not content with being more gigantic than its predecessor, it is still far from its final form. The talented independent studio Supergiant Games wants to use the early access to make Hades its ” best and biggest game so far », with the help of the community. This results in patches that drastically change the gaming experience, thanks in part to player feedback, like the one that interests us here. In the more or less near future, another major update will add content to complete the story of Mélinoé.
Thus, the third patch of Hades 2 brings “just” a lot of adjustments and balancing. The most notable is the fact that the Duo (with two deities) and legendary blessings are now offered more frequently. The various aspects of the weapons also benefit from several improvements. The same observation also applies to the Altar of Ash, whose card system brings us powerful bonuses in our runs and which has been heavily reworked. Finally, the Crossroads Cauldron receives particularly effective new recipes. We will especially remember those that, by collecting Ash, Psyche, Bone or Nectar, grant health, armor or an additional level for a random benefit. All blessings in the game also receive adjustments, mainly to increase their effectiveness.
Mélinoé refines her divine art
In addition to all these changes, Hades 2 uses this third patch to refine its interface and fix numerous bugs. New icons appear and the interface becomes clearer. When it comes to bug fixes, they are interested in both problems with unexpected crashes and display errors. In order not to overwhelm you with extremely extensive patch notes, we invite you to consult them (unfortunately only in English), especially via the Page Steam Game.
Hades 2 is currently only available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Supergiant Games plans to release its highly anticipated game in its final version in 2025 on PC, but also on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series. As with the first opus, a Nintendo Switch version is also planned, either at the same time as other platforms or later.
