The official release of Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 and PS4 is just around the corner. However, it appears that Sony failed to keep the cover of its game until the end. In fact, Guerrilla Games’ new title can now be added to the long list of games that have suffered a significant leak.
A non-final version of Horizon Forbidden West for PS4 has been leaked online. British side VGC claims to be able to verify the accuracy of the information. According to him, this leak contains the entire base game. However, it’s not the same game that consumers can pick up on February 18. In fact, some assets are missing from this version.
Horizon Forbidden West storyline soon revealed?
This leak was discovered through the appearance of screenshots of this PS4 version on social networks. The authenticity of this leak from Horizon Forbidden West was confirmed a priori a few hours later when these images were deleted from Twitter for copyright reasons.
According to VGC, this full, but not final, PS4 version of Horizon Forbidden West is not currently floating around on hacker sites. It is therefore not yet clear how it got into the hands of some.
A touch of déjà vu for Sony
As mentioned earlier, Horizon Forbidden West will be released on February 18th for PS5 and PS4. This leak is likely to reveal a lot of plot spoilers on social media. Fans of the Guerilla Games series should therefore be careful until the game is officially released.
At this point in time, Sony Interactive Entertainment has not commented on the situation. In any case, this is not the first time the Japanese giant has found itself in such a situation. A lot of The Last of Us Part II spoilers were actually circulating prior to the game’s release following a similar leak.
