If you were to put it bluntly, you could say that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is known for disappointments: The Marvel film disappointed fans with its half-baked plot and weakly drawn characters.
The second disappointment followed at the box office. With just once $476 million Worldwide, the film is unlikely to have been in the black for Marvel and Disney; the production costs alone were a reported $275 million.
The third disappointment concerns Michael Douglas. The actor really wanted to die a glorious screen death, but this wish was denied him.
I would like a violent death
Michael Douglas was recently a guest on the talk show The View (via Entertainment Weekly). There he spoke, among other things, about his famous father Kirk, previous roles and also about his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
For Ant-Man 3, the actor unsuccessfully suggested to the creative minds at Marvel that his character Hank Pym should be given the heroic death he deserved in order to go out with a bang:
[Der Tod von Hank Pym] was my wish for the third film. I said that I would like to have a violent death, with all these great special effects. There must be some awesome way I can shrink to ant size and explode. I want to use all of these effects.
But that was in the last film. Now I probably won’t show up again.

MCU return only under one condition
The last sentence of his statement underlines: It is unlikely that we will see the ultimately cheerful Hank Pym again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the foreseeable future.
Nevertheless, Michael Douglas keeps the door open for a comeback. But he has one condition for Marvel that would have to be met. You can probably already guess what that is. He would like to slip into the shoes of Hank Pym again, as long as I could die
.
But which MCU film could Hank Pym actually return to? When you look at the films and series that have already been announced, you notice that there are probably only the two Avengers films Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars would be eligible for this. However, nothing is officially known about Hank Pym’s future.
What is known, however, is what the immediate future of the MCU looks like. In 2024, only one Marvel film will be released in cinemas, but it has a lot to offer: Deadpool & Wolverine wants to revitalize the franchise that has recently been in trouble and at the same time continue to spin the multiversal story, which will reach its grand conclusion in a few years with Secret Wars should find.
