Intel hasn’t completely given up the race for graphics cards and the American manufacturer seems to want to compete with Nvidia in the mid-range.
If the Intel Innovation Event was primarily a presentation of Raptor Lake processors. Intel also took the opportunity to say a few words about its graphics cards and in particular the Arc A770, which has been the talk of the town a lot lately. And it’s all legitimate.
Intel publishes its gist on the GPU side
Of course, you shouldn’t expect a power monster like Nvidia recently with its RTX 4080 and 4090. Intel prefers a mid-range graphics card.
This Intel card model is based on the ACM G10 GPU engraved in 6nm. With the program 32 Xe Cores, 512 XMX processors and 512 computing units. Two versions will be available, namely 8 or 16 GB GDDR6 memory. Only the Limited Edition visible in the photo above will only be available in a 16GB version during the conference, the price of this graphics card would be $329.
Duel against the Nvidia RTX 3060
Clearly Intel has their sights set on the Nvidia RTX 3060 and we even had the right to some nice graphics to compare the performance.
According to the manufacturer, the A770 is ahead of the RTX 3060 at 1080p with ray tracing enabled. Of course, we’ll have to wait for independent tests to verify this information, but this A770 seems to perform well. If in Cyberpunk 2077 the difference is only 3 FPS, in a title like Fortnite the difference is 13 FPS.
The full announcement is expected to be made on October 12th.
