A mouse without fear and without reproach

fear, mouse, reproach

We have the opportunity to test a number of new Asus ROG devices. Including the brand new Gladius III wireless mouse. Gladius is an icon from the manufacturer, and an icon in the sense that it is one of the first mouse models in the ROG range.

As in the past few days with the Gladius II, Asus felt it was time to update its mouse again with a third model. This new iteration comes in two versions, wired and wireless. However, we received the latter in order to carry out the test. As is so often the case with mice of this high-end type, everything is compatible with 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth in order to adapt to individual needs.

Versatility ensures

Ct design and as you can see in the photos that appear in this review, the The sword 3 takes a step back from model II and offers something more elegant with an asymmetrical design that does not allow use for left-handers. Its modest size allows it to adapt to any shape of morphology, especially with a possible palm grip or claw grip. Its dimensions are 126 x 67 x 45 mm to the only 89 grams much less than some competitors without sacrificing. The chassis also seems to be well made (you have to look long-term as always), despite a plastic surface that’s a bit slippery on top. The edges offer grippy ribs with small slits to let the light from the LEDs through. The result is very pleasing to the eye, but especially to your hand. The rest of the RGB is at the wheel and on the back of the mouse.

Precise and flawless

This model is equipped with a PMW3370 sensor from PixArt, which can reach up to 19,000 DPI, with an upscaling of up to 26,000 DPI, which is not of much interest in classic games. In an FPS, even the most nervous of them, 19,000 is more than enough for the average person to be less than a machine. The precision is optimal and for the price of the model (99 dollars) it is difficult to find better in the state.

The mouse connector provides the USB-C standard, and any cable can do the trick, which also extends the life of the mouse because it is not a proprietary cable. The connection / Bluetooth is established via a USB dongle that is stored under the mouse. However, it is also possible to use it entirely in cable mode.

Armory crate on report

As always, the faithful home software from Asus Armory chest This option allows you to customize details to suit your device (RGB, sensitivity, macro, etc.). It is even possible to recalibrate the mouse, in short, complete software that is bug free in its latest version.

THE MISTAKE OF ASUS

Precise, comfortable in the long term, elegant, The sword 3 is an extremely versatile mouse that adapts to all your uses. The only caveat to the possibility is actually the asymmetry that makes it an all-right-handed mouse. Otherwise it is flawless.

ON ONE GOAL: WE DO NOT LIKE:
  • An excellent sensor
  • Very good sensations in the hand
  • Good autonomy (55 hours)
  • Right handed only (but we argue)
