The PSVR 2 will be able to count on a cult license from PlayStation at launch. Sony has just confirmed a new title that will be compatible with the headphones upon release.
Announced on the verge of the PS5’s launch, the PSVR 2 has since been unveiled from all sides. The new virtual reality headset will be available next month with no less than 30 games at launch. Headliner, Horizon Call of the Mountain, No Man’s Sky or Resident Evil 8. However, Sony took advantage of its CES 2023 conference, held on the night of January 5th, to present a new killer app that will be available at the same time as the one will be headset.
Gran Turismo 7 at PSVR 2 launch
PSVR 2 officially launches on February 23rd. Transparent view, scope adjustment, refresh rate that can rise up to 120Hz, eye-tracking, built-in vibration and other frightening features, the headset is not lacking in benefits to seduce virtual reality enthusiasts. On the sidelines of the release, however, Sony has confirmed a new game at launch, and not just any game. Gran Turismo 7 will be PSVR 2 compatible after release. The title will in fact offer a free update on this date for all players who already own the car simulation. A few brief snippets have been revealed and unsurprisingly it’s very similar to Gran Turismo Sport.
However, that wasn’t the only announcement from CES 2023. One of the best VR games will also come to PSVR 2 later. Sony has actually confirmed that Beat Saber will be compatible with its new headphones at some unspecified date. The rhythm game should offer similar features as Meta Quest 2 to take advantage of the new features. However, it will be necessary to wait to learn more.
