Believe it or not, George RR Martin has written other books besides A Song of Ice and Fire, that have nothing to do with Game of Thrones. And some of them have already been made into films.
Now follows with In The Lost Lands the next adaptation, which looks back on a long history: Originally announced almost nine years ago, the cinema release has only now been confirmed… or at least almost.
After 9 years, a cinema release in sight
As the industry magazine Deadline reported, the new film flickers Beginning of 2025 on the big screen – a concrete release date has not yet been set, nor has one for Europey.
But at least there is a picture of the two main actors: Dave Bautista in the role of Boyce and Milla Jovovich as Gray Alys.

In The Lost Lands is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil, Monster Hunter) is responsible for the film adaptation of Milla Jovovich’s husband. The film was announced in 2015, but actual production did not begin until 2021, while filming began in late 2022/2023.

Die Story: Along with Bitterblooms and The Lonelys Songs of Laren Dorr, In The Lost Lands is just one of three short stories by George RR Martin that were considered for film. The latter revolves around the witch Gray Alys (Jovovich) and the hunter Boye (Bautista), who are sent on an important mission by their queen (Amara Okereke).
In the Lost Lands, the duo is tasked with finding the magical gift of turning into a werewolf. The queen hopes that this will bring her happiness in love. However, neither the queen nor Boye are aware that every wish that Alys grants comes at a high price.
In The Lost Lands is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in early 2025. It remains to be seen when the new film by director Paul WS Anderson will be released in Europey. Next year, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will be the third series in the Game of Thrones universe based on George RR Martin’s work.
