Square Enix has enough faith in the Avalanche Studios franchise to fund a Just Cause 5. The information was provided by the Japanese publisher during a meeting with its investors.
Square Enix has betrayed two of its Tomb Raider and Deus Ex licenses, but not all. The Just Cause 5 “pre-announcement” made by the publisher serves as proof.
A new Just Cause 5 game is coming

The new games should perhaps correlate with the studios that Square Enix wants to create. No further details about Just Cause 5 for the time being, but it should only be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The Avalanche Studios teams have their hands full.

Just Cause 4’s launch was disastrous to say the least. Many found the formula to be pretty damn round-robin, and most importantly, the game was launched in an extremely problematic state. The many concerns have earned the title a Metacritic score of 65/100 on the press side and 4.8/10 on the player side. If Square Enix and Avalanche Studios want to restore the brand’s image, we need to roll up our sleeves.
