Xbox has taken the first step and ported some of its small exclusives to PS5/Switch. But as things stand, one of his biggest exclusions could follow.
It’s an unfortunate fact: Microsoft’s gaming business has significant financial concerns. Among the solutions explored to catch up, Xbox has decided to port some of its exclusive games to PS5/Switch. However, more drastic measures could soon be taken, such as the introduction of important exclusive products. One of them, arriving very soon, is the subject of such considerations.
Will the PS5 soon be treated to a new major Xbox exclusive?
Xbox has continued to experience bad news in recent months. 1,900 people were laid off, most notably at Activision Blizzard in late January, and four studios recently closed. To protect the furniture, Microsoft’s gaming department is considering several options. In addition to a price increase for Game Pass, there is talk of even bringing the most important exclusive products to PS5/Switch. This could be the case with Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2, which is highly anticipated for PC and Xbox Series on May 21st.
But before Hellblade 2 is ported to PS5, and that’s just a simple consideration on Xbox’s part at the moment, we still have to wait and see if it’s a success. The Ninja Theory title aims to offer a stunning cinematic and visual experience (only at 30 FPS on Xbox Series), but it may not be to everyone’s taste. This sequel should in fact be consistent with the first: a primarily narrative game whose gameplay is quite “simple” on paper. Let’s hope for the talented British studio’s sake that its new game is well received both critically and commercially. Otherwise, given the current situation at Xbox, the days could unfortunately be numbered…
