The second update of the free Astro Bot PS5 game that comes pre-installed on the console is available with a new feature for an amazing console title.
The upcoming exclusive Astro Bot has reignited interest around Astro’s Playroom. A 100% free title pre-installed on PS5 that served as a showcase for the DualSense controller while also being a true platformer and a tribute to PlayStation history. And to promote the future installment, Team Asobi continues to regularly update the current software. A second little robot is just waiting to be roused by players.
An update 1.901 for the free PS5 game Astro Bot
Last June, during the Summer Game Fest 2024, Team Asobi released an update for $1,900,000 Astro’s Playroom. A patch that added trophies, gatchas and new features in PlayStation Lab such as PSVR2 and PSVR 2 Sense, DuaSense Edge, the Access controller, as well as the PlayStation Portal that broadcasts the trailer for the next Astro Bot. But there was also a new robot that you could unlock by solving a puzzle: Lady Maria from Bloodborne: The Old Hunters.

So who’s next? Selene, the heroine of the fantasy series “Returnal”, is now a little robot and here’s how to get her if you don’t want to look for her yourself.
How do I unlock the Astrobot Selene from Returnal in Astro’s Playroom? You must have completed the PS5 game first. Then here are the steps you should follow diligently:
- Go to “SSD Circuit” and then “Sideral Gusts”.
- Go to where Astro can collect a machine gun without taking it with him
- Look to the left to see a vortex
- Stand in front of it and jump forward so that a platform appears that provides access to the capsule containing Selene.
- Go back and get the machine gun
- It is possible to kill all the purple enemies in this section, but especially not the green ones, even if this is not mandatory
- You have to get past the enemies, climb the stairs and turn around at the top of the area
- On one of the narrow walkways stands a small astronaut doll
- You have to stand on it and let yourself die from an attack of green enemies.
- Death will be just the beginning, as Astro will rise again and free the Selene bot from Returnal
