A new update is available for Baldur’s Gate 3 that will save some users who may be experiencing major performance issues.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has ended a cheat in the latest patch. A scam that jeopardized the game’s fictional economy and forced Larian Studios to review how it worked. “After the discussion, we agreed that the container shenanigans were fun, but hurt the economy.” the team reasoned in the notes accompanying this update. If you encounter other difficulties, they may be resolved with the update on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Update April 4, 2024
The previous Baldur’s Gate 3 update implemented fixes for various crashes and bugs. Above all, there have been changes in the way goods are bought and sold. Recently it is no longer possible to generate gold by purchasing multiple items, but rather by paying for just one. Likewise, the bug that allowed you to buy a stack of items for free, put them in a container, and split everything up using the tool is no longer relevant. This afternoon, Thursday April 4, 2024, Larian Studios released a new patch for Baldur’s Gate 3.
This time it doesn’t attack the game’s economy, but instead prevents the app from closing during a cutscene between Acts 2 and 3. In addition, the US companion should now cause fewer problems and no longer seem inappropriate. Finally, this hotfix will be a saving grace for Mac players of Baldur’s Gate 3 as it includes performance improvements.
Hotfix 24 patch notes
- Fixed a crash that occurred during the cutscene between Act 2 and Act 3
- Fixed an issue where it was impossible to take a short rest if “Us”, a temporary companion, was added and returned with a party member’s companion before certain saves were loaded
- Fixed an issue where we would spawn in camp and near other waypoints where it didn’t make sense
- Addressed an issue in Hotfix 21 that caused performance issues on Mac. This should no longer happen, but make sure you have version 4.1.1.5009956 installed
