Star Citizen increases: The developer Turbulent is founding a new studio in Montreal, Canada, which deals exclusively with Cloud Imperium’s gigantic space MMO project. There, under the direction of Turbulent co-founder and CTO Benoit Beausejour, primarily arise new star systems for Star Citizen.
Turbulent thus joins a line with several studios that are spread across the world. There are already offshoots of Cloud Imperium in the USA, Great Britain and Europey, all of which are involved in the development of Star Citizen.
The new Turbulent remains an »independent studio«, like one Press release can be found. Cloud Imperium Games entered Turbulent in 2019 as a minority shareholder. Over the next three years, the team will gradually grow to 100 employees. It is not known how many developers will work there at the beginning.
What is the new team developing?
When Turbulent arise mainly new star systems for Star Citizen. We know that after ten years of development, only one of the planned 100 of these systems exists as part of a playable alpha.
At Star Citizen, a lot of time is spent in the Development of new technology invested in order to even be able to realize a project of this size. Cloud Imperium stated earlier that the speed of development would increase significantly as soon as all technical tools were available.
