To forget his important shift, Forspoken reveals new sequences on PS5. On one side the State of Play trailer and on the other side a video about the game’s combats and spells.
Forspoken won’t release on PS5 and PC until the fall, but Square Enix has been keen to promote its new franchise. We have to start the trailer for the latest State of Playthen captured excerpts from our colleagues at Game Informer.
The meeting of two worlds
The new trailer “Meeting of two worlds” visible above materializes all of Forspoken’s missions. Frey Holland is snatched from the streets of New York and catapulted into the more hostile world of Athia.
The strange and cruel continent of Athia drives Frey to transcend its borders. She must use her parkour and magical combat skills to survive against the fearsome, corrupted creatures that lurk in the mist.
The trailer shows us a little more of the young New Yorker’s magical abilities, including two forces. The first “Stormy Stalker”, which generates electrical energy during combat, and the second, “Surfing”, which allows Frey to contain water barriers.
As for fogit is the infection that changed all life, Human and animal. We also have a better overview of some enemies like the gigas that make everything tremble, the flying apsaravis or the wild dragon that the heroine faces.
Forspoken: Magic, the central element
We’ve noticed it since the first presentation, the magic is at the heart of Square Enix’s title. And the statement of the developers on the subject is crystal clear:
Magic really is central to Forspoken. We have therefore made sure to provide players with a wide range of spells to choose from.
The Game Informer video is busy explaining all of this to us. Frey wields several types of magic with standard spells to shoot, lacerate, or electrify her enemies in melee combat. But there are also support powers, like one that summons multiple flaming swords to protect you and attack your opponents to give you time to recharge your magic. And that’s without counting on other skills to deal area damage.
At the bottom right of the screen is a triangle symbolizing the three types of magic available. On the left the support spells, on the right the basic magic attacks and on the spike the most devastating power.
