DOOM has a special relationship with the most unusual ports, but with the latest attempt at porting, the concept has reached a whole new level…
Thanks to DIY fans in their spare time, DOOM has been ported to just about everything imaginable. From Windows Notepad to a PC directly in Minecraft, to a pregnancy test, a connected refrigerator, or even a holographic tree – the title has literally been through hell. But this new, unusual port of the cult FPS offers it a questionable place in the circle of desire.
DOOM’s Big F***ing G… now takes on a whole new meaning
We thought we’d already seen DOOM running on the most unlikely of platforms. But YouTuber Aaron Christophel recently proved to us that it’s possible to go even deeper. This very resourceful fan and DIYer had already made this iconic game run on an electric toothbrush. What other unusual portage could he have in store for us next? Here’s what he presents: Dong-DOOM
More precisely, it is a model manufactured by Tiforun. This one has, in fact, the dubious privilege of presenting a screen large enough to show the DOOM game in all its nostalgic glory (but still dressed, rest assured). Aaron Christophel even went a step further and set the device to vibrate when the DOOM guy shoots (with a gun) or a demon (not Lust) dies under his blows. With this latest port of the legendary FPS, we could well believe that we have seen it all in terms of unusual projects of this kind… or have we?
