Before you can enjoy your games on PS5, you need to update your console with the new system patch 24.08-10.40.00. Here's what's changing.
Sony has quietly updated the PS5 for the PlayStation's 30th anniversary. For a limited time, it is possible to theme the console interface with PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 themes. The program includes new startup sounds and clips as well as new backgrounds that are directly linked to the Japanese manufacturer's machines. In addition, the company has also provided firmware for the console software, which brings some improvements, especially when you need to transfer data.
The new PS5 update from December 3, 2024
On October 23, 2024, Sony Interactive Entertainment released the system update 24.07-10.20.00. A firmware that, as usual, has improved the performance and stability of the software without further precision. As is often the case, this patch also revised the messages and ergonomics of certain screens. Finally, the Activities section has received a new feature with the words “In Progress,” “Not Started,” or “Completed” displayed to better monitor your progress. And don't panic, the spoilers remain hidden despite this modification.
From now on a new one System update 24.08-10.40.00 D'Environment 1.3 Go is available on PS5. What's new? The traditional improvements to messaging and the ergonomics of certain screens continue to appear in the patch notes. But above all, you must remember that this update corrects the data transfer process from another PS5.
Plus the stability “when transferring large amounts of data such as captures” is also improved. We won't get upset, but this last point could well solve one of the console's biggest problems. If you select multiple recordings, the transfer can be extremely slow, whereas if you do it bit by bit it will be much faster. So check it out, but it could be excellent news for the PS5.
