Overwatch 2 has a little surprise in store for all its players as it prepares for Season 10. The only problem is that you have to take advantage of it very quickly.
Blizzard’s competitive FPS has been in a bit of a turmoil over the last few years, but is slowly making a comeback. Deep gameplay overhaul with meta change, transition to free-to-play, overhaul of the economic system… Overwatch died, only to be reborn from its ashes some time later in the form of a “sequel”.
After a chaotic launch, Overwatch 2 has never stopped pampering its players. Blizzard listens, acts accordingly and tries new approaches. The updates and content are definitely regular and the studio is preparing a very nice surprise for you this weekend.
Overwatch 2 is giving all players a little gift!
Shadow drops! As the saying goes, Blizzard has just announced that its next hero character, the first to be non-binary, Venture, will be free to play from March 28th to March 31st! Yes, it’s available now and all weekend! You can benefit from this new character, the professional attacker, who has an arsenal of offensive and defensive skills.
You will be equipped with an excavator rifle, which is just as effective at medium range as it is in close combat. Venture will also be able to trigger various abilities related to Earth, his favorite element. They will therefore be able to sink into the ground to become invulnerable and create new opportunities. With his Tectonic Shock ability, Venture can deal heavy damage to his opponents, while he has an offensive dash that can deal damage and push opponents back. Passively, they gain a damage bonus to their quick melee attacks and gain a temporary shield each time they use skills.
Throughout the weekend you can explore Venture in all non-competitive modes. After the free trial weekend, it will go into dormancy until the final release at the start of Season 10 on April 16th. And as a reminder, Venture will be the very first character accessible upon release. With Season 10, Blizzard has actually decided to completely overhaul its system (once again), which means that from now on heroes will no longer be stuck in the Season Pass as before. Other changes are also expected, which we reported in detail in our first preview of this famous season 10. So there are a lot of changes that should do a lot of good for a game that is not lacking in arguments, but unfortunately runs a bit slowly.
