Since March 2024, Horizon Forbidden West is no longer available exclusively for the PS5. In fact, the Guerrilla title is now available on PC, where it has just received a new patch.
Launching a new license is always a gamble, especially when it represents a 180-degree turn compared to previous productions. However, it is a bet that Guerrilla Games. After a decade of Killzone, PlayStation Studio abandoned the FPS to enter the action-adventure RPG with Horizon Zero Dawn in 2017, turning the trial into 2022 Horizon Forbidden West.
Since Sony Interactive Entertainment has been porting its exclusive titles to the PC for several years, the license is also eligible for entry on Steam. Since March 21st, PC players have finally discovered the continuation of Aloy’s adventures, also via the DLC Burning shores.
However, Horizon Forbidden West is very resource intensive. It therefore requires solid configuration to run it. If the machine follows, the risk is worth it because it shines with its beauty. However, a title of this magnitude sometimes trips up a few stubborn errors. But Guerrilla reacts!
Welcome fixes to Horizon Forbidden West
After a difficult start at the time on PC for Horizon Zero Dawn, Guerrilla Games and Nixxes softwareresponsible for porting, ensure Forbidden West runs optimally on your machines.
With its latest patch the game should More comfortable. From now on there will be fewer display errors, especially in terms of UI and frame rate. The developers have also thought of several optimizations for the keyboard-mouse gameplay.
Finally, processor owners AMD Radeon RX 6000 can be happy! Poor optimization regularly resulted in image corruption when opening the card. From now on this very annoying problem should no longer occur.

The latest patch released by Guerrilla fixes some issues minor problems. Check out the details shared in the Patch note :
- Improved stability.
- Optimizations to address slowdowns that may occur in certain locations.
- Fixed an issue that could cause level and XP bars to display incorrectly.
- Fixed a visual corruption that AMD Radeon RX 6000 GPU users could experience on the card.
- By opening the tension wheel, the mouse pointer is now placed in the center of the wheel.
- Deleting a key binding will no longer reset it to the default key after restarting the game.
- Skills are no longer automatically learned when viewing information if the toggle option is enabled in the lock menu.
- Various UI bug fixes.
