After the surprise success of A Plague Tale: Innocence, a sequel is planned for the medium term with A Plague Tale: Requiem. In addition, the franchise is now to be implemented in a TV series.
The first reports have now been published that the adventure series A Plague Tale will now make the leap onto TV screens as a series. At least that’s what they claim Allocinaccording to which the project is already being promoted by Merlin Productions in France.
The series already has a director in Mathieu Turi; he had previously worked as an assistant director on films such as “Inglourious Basterds” or “Lucy” and subsequently also published the report via Twitter confirmed.
The developers would have had the chance to sell the rights to a US production company. Instead, however, the decision was made to keep production in France. In this way, one also wants to ensure that the setting in medieval France can remain as faithful as possible. The game’s development studio, Asobo, is also based in Bordeaux, for example.
There is still no information about the cast, nor about the start date. The series is currently in an early stage of development.
A Plague Tale: Innocence was released in 2019 and tells the story of Amicia and Hugo. In the midst of a plague, they are on the run. The sequel A Plague Tale: Reqiuem was announced last June for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Switch and PC.
