Earlier this month, we told you that another prop maker was looking to fill the void Sony created by simply removing and replacing the PS5’s side panels. And obviously things are moving forward for him.

Game Armor, the company recently created to offer interchangeable PS5 side panels in a variety of colors. just announced that it will ship its first fifty orders before Christmas 2020. This means that the production of these same plates is going well. To mark the occasion, Game Armor uploaded the first photos of its plates installed on a real PS5. These photos are available in our gallery below.
During the pre-order phase, these badges were sold at an introductory price of $ 35 for a set of two badges. And as for the colors offered, Game Armor gave the option to order black, red or blue plates. These records sold out very quickly and Game Armor has not yet decided when new records will be available.
So far, so good
Game Armor has therefore not (for the moment) suffered the wrath of Sony’s lawyers as it did with another prop maker who wanted to sell colored panels to replace the PS5’s original white panels. According to Game Armor, it is because he was able to make progress on his project, “The name is not deceptively close to a registered trademark“that his product”does not contain the dpos logo“and be that”Armor is constructed differently enough not to infringe design patents. “
Now we have to wait for feedback from the first buyers to experience the quality and reliability of this new product. In any case, it wouldn’t be surprising if other companies were to want to offer products that play a similar role as demand seems to be strong (while waiting for a possible official offer from Sony?). As we suggested to you recently, some players among the early PS5 buyers have already committed to customizing the look and feel of their consoles themselves. And they did it in a number of different ways to achieve this: vinyl, paint, backlight, etc.
What do you think of the Game Armor records at first sight? Could you consider buying such products? Do you think Sony will offer official removable disks? Give us your thoughts in the comments below.
