Just an Easter egg or is there more to it? If you saw the developer direct video of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (or Indiana Jones and the Great Circle) at the last Microsoft show and only noticed the new Indy game, you missed something crucial.
Because on a writing board in a single shot of the video you can see tell-tale writing that apparently the successor to one of the most famous shooter series of all time anteast: Quake 6.
You can read what else there was to see in the gameplay presentation and why it made Indy fan Fabiano so excited in his column:
What is there to see and what does it mean?
At minute 11:36 of the video from developer Machine Games You can briefly see the letters “AKE 6” on the left edge of the picture. In addition, there is part of the… signature Quake logos (see the cover pho to in this news). A player first saw this on Reddit

14 minutes with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: This is how faithful the game wants to be to the original film
Since Indiana Jones publisher Bethesda or its parent company Zenimax Media holds the rights to the Quake series and the original development studio id Software has been part of the group since 2009, as has Machine Games (and has recently been part of Microsoft), it is reasonable to assume that that the notice was specifically placed in the video and the missing letters are actually Q and U.
Alternatively, Machine Games could of course also create a list for the number of items to be baked. Cake for a party and one type of it should be done six times. In the typical Quake look, which is why the logo of the legendary shooter series was captured underneath.
Let’s put it this way: This is also within the realm of possibility.
There have been rumors about a new Quake for years
However, the appearance of Quake 6 (a fifth part, Quake Champions, was previously released) is simply a joke by the Swedish developer Machine Games rather unlikely.
Finally, rumors reached the public as early as 2021 that a Quake reboot was in development. Even back then Machine Games associated with the project. The shooter should therefore offer a solo campaign and a multiplayer component and have a female main character.
Most recently, Bethesda also released remastered versions of Quake 1 and 2, which are seen as evidence of an upcoming reboot of the series could interpret. However, it would probably only be published after Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Its release is scheduled for 2024.
