Assassin’s Creed has a number of new games, but fans are waiting for only one thing: a sequel to this excellent episode. And it’s not just them hoping, big players are also making their voices heard.
The Assassin’s Creed license is certainly one of the most iconic, if not the most iconic, Ubisoft licenses. However, it is not the oldest license and there were not only excellent games. When things started off really strong, Ubi pulled a little too hard with one game a year until it resulted in player overload and a loss of quality. Here the company decided to completely rethink its formula and start over on a new foundation, thus producing one of the license’s best games: Assassin’s Creed Origins.
A sequel to Assassin’s Creed Origins? Everyone wants some!
As the name suggests, Origins returns to the events that led to the founding of the famous Assassins’ Guild that we discovered with Altaïr and Desmond. In AC Origins we follow Bayek and Aya, two now iconic characters in the series. A pair of fighters who, in addition to a terrible event, must also deal with the rise of an organization with dark plans that is on the verge of plunging the country into utter chaos, if it hasn’t already done so. Tear-inducing, not to say great, and captivating from start to finish: Assassin’s Creed Origins is a must-have of the license and its ending, which isn’t one at all, leaves the way open for a whole lot of things to happen throughout the license, of course, but also a direct sequel.
And the fans want this sequel so much that a petition (again) is currently being shared on social networks to get Ubisoft to hear the idea. Bayek and Aya would have a lot to show us and the two heroes are super important to the entire franchise, as well as being incredibly charismatic and lovable. Fans want to know what happens after Assassin’s Creed Origins, and they are not the only ones, as two very important personalities who worked on the game are also very enthusiastic about the idea: Abubakar Salim and Alix Reagan and Bayek and Aya im, respectively Game.
Even veterans of the original game are excited for it!
As Abubakar Salim prepares for the imminent release of Tales of Kenzera: Zau, a metroidvania inspired by African culture, the latter returned to his work on Assassin’s Creed Origins in the columns of Den of Geek, where he reiterates that for him As His Experience Be is unfinished, particularly because of Origins’ relatively open ending.
On social media, Salim even had fun saying that maybe he should do the sequel to AC Origins himself… to which Alix, his accomplice, responded positively. The latter even shared the petition that is currently circulating on the Internet.
Everyone is extremely motivated for a sequel, everyone except Ubisoft, which is preparing many other projects at the moment. Some are already official, like Assassin’s Creed Red, the next big game in the franchise that will take us to Japan, but also the mobile game AC Jade, which could well be delayed or even Hex as the darkest game ever created for the license was, was announced. Other games are also the subject of growing rumors, including a possible remake of Black Flag. Maybe Ubisoft will have room for a small sequel to AC Origins at some point, or maybe one of these will never see the light of day.
And you, do you like a sequel to Assassin’s Creed Origins?
