What’s up with the trick? TheJDMdriver shows a route in a short clip that is particularly interesting for solo players. In the video, the player climbs onto the roofs of the El Rubio estate, bypasses loads of opponents and ends up in front of the drug lord’s office within seconds.
This not only saves TheJDMDriver having to sneak around the guards in the property, but also immensely reduces the risk of being discovered. This is of course particularly exciting for solo players who are looking to complete the elite challenge: One criterion for this is to complete the Heist final in under 15 minutes.
We have already tried the route of TheJDMdriver ourselves and escaped from Cayo Perico in under 12 minutes and 30 seconds with full bags of loot and without being discovered – without any other players in tow.

An additional tip on our part: However, we also recommend that you aim for the narrow railings and beams with a drawn weapon when balancing. So you can better control the movements of your character and you don’t run the risk of falling down left or right and ruining your progress.
What does the trick assume? To benefit from the solo tactic, you have to enter El Rubio’s property via the sewer. In case of doubt, this works with the Kosatka as an approach vehicle, but for full bags of loot it is much more advisable to head for Cayo Perico with a Longfin and cutting torch.
If you have then entered El Rubio’s property via the sewer, proceed as follows:
- Turn left on the terrace and climb the stairs.
- Aim your weapon at the railing so your character doesn’t just jump over it.
- If you are now standing on the railing, it is best to aim the weapon again so as not to fall down to the left or right.
- Now climb up the canopy to reach the other roofs.
- Make your way over the roofs towards El Rubio’s office.
- Aim again with the gun to land safely on the beam that leads to the balcony of El Rubio’s office.
- Now enter the office, but don’t let the last guard catch you like TheJDMdriver.
If you follow these instructions, you will be able to get through the finale of the Cayo Perico Heist from GTA Online particularly quickly and easily – and to beat El Rubio one more time.
