Genshin Impact is getting a small but nice change in today’s 3.4 update that makes exploring the world a lot less frustrating.
The changes revolve around waypoints, which are used to quickly traverse the open world in Genshin Impact. You can now see at a glance whether a waypoint is located in the overworld, or in one of the many underground caverns that were recently added to the game.
Why is this important? When traveling in new areas of Sumeru, players may wish to stay on the surface to find certain enemies, farm certain resources, etc. Along the way, you’ll naturally teleport to the nearest waypoint, making the ace faster, only to find yourself in an underground cavern. Temporary depression, but it happens to everyone.
Take a quick look at Genshin Impact Reddit and you’ll see many posts celebrating the change. They’ve been asking for it for a while, because while Sumeru has recently added a ton of new underground waypoints, some players are clamoring that it’s just a minor quality of life change.
It’s not even a major change in the update, which adds a new part of the Meru Desert, two new characters, Lantern Festival, and more. It just goes to show that sometimes the little things happen the easiest… at least until people started getting Yaoyao and Alhaitham from the new character banner.
