A statement that many players will not like

players, statement

Blizzard recently made a statement about Diablo 4 that may displease many players regarding a highly requested feature.

During Gamescom 2024, Wowhead had the opportunity to interview Tiffany Wat, production manager of Diablo 4, and Rex Dickson, lead designer of the game, mainly about Vessel of Hatred, the DLC expected on October 8 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. And there is bad news about an element highly anticipated by the community.

Diablo 4 will skip an element players desperately want

While waiting for its upcoming release, Vessel of Hatred was tested by Gamescom 2024 attendees. Wowhead was one of them and was able to speak with two members of the team behind Diablo 4. They returned to upcoming additions in the DLC, such as the Sacresprit class, the Mercenaries or the new type of endgame dungeons: the Black Citadel. This requires at least a group of two players and allows you to restore scrolls to reset the mood of your equipment, a mechanic introduced in Season 4.

Much to the dismay of those familiar with the hack’n-slash genre, this new endgame activity for Diablo 4 cannot be completed entirely solo. Tiffany Wat has also confirmed that the team currently has no plans to add a single-player mode, or “Solo Self-discovered“, in short. Blizzard’s goal, on the contrary, seems to be to strengthen the multiplayer component of its game. This is particularly evident in the upcoming introduction of another highly requested feature: the group search.

For the lone heroes of Sanctuary, however, you will have to come back later to see a true single-player mode in Diablo 4. However, the famous scrolls to be recovered in the Black Citadel should be found elsewhere, but with much lower chances. Given the lack of this mode so requested by the community, does Path of Exile 2 have anything to do with it? Start reacting with the release in Early Access on November 15 on PC.
