If Hollowbody is suddenly exploding on the internet, it’s because the game is a real gem, perfect while waiting for the Silent Hill 2 remake.
The good thing about video games is that no matter what we say about them, we are still surprised. Sometimes games come out of nowhere without warning and seem like a bomb. Moreover, this often happens in the independent scene, because the developers there are more daring than in large productions. At the moment it is a PC game that makes a small impact, Hollow bodya love letter to the survival horror of the 2000s, which is already attracting more attention than Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Hollowbody, the perfect nugget while waiting for Silent 2 Remake
The Bloober Team monster is coming soon, Silent Hill 2 Remake is in the final stages of its October 8th release on PS5But in its shadow currently crawls Hollowbody, a horror game that is both visual and psychological, playing with the hackneyed codes of games in the genre from the 2000s. resident Evil or Silent Hill are proud representatives of this. Hollowbody takes great inspiration from it and it works.
Currently the game is a hit on Steam. It only lasts 4 hours (intense, we are told) and costs $16, so next to nothing. We play a young woman, Mica, a fan of the black market, who sets out to find her missing partner in the ruins of a past that few remember. In this desolate setting, an English town abandoned for years, our heroine must survive and try everything to find her comrade.
The initial feedback from the press is unanimous: it’s a little nugget of perfect horror while you wait for the Silent Hill 2 remake. We, for one, are in the thick of it and Hollowbody delivers on its promises. It’s extremely effective and sinks in very quickly. A note to fans of the genre.
Hollowbody is currently only available on PC via Steam or Encore GOG.
