The PlayStation Stars loyalty program isn’t at its best on PS5 and PS4. But things should improve soon, and in the meantime, you can find out if your points have been credited to your account.
The outage of PlayStation Stars, the loyalty program for PS5 and PS4, is not yet resolved, but things are moving forward. An Internet user discovered that a version of the PS app that allows access is in the final testing phase and there should be something new in the coming days. The recovery may be gradual, although much of the program seems to be working. Despite the disruptions, Sony continued to count on the efforts of players.
A solution to view your PlayStation Stars points
PlayStation Stars is a loyalty program that rewards the PS5 and PS4 community. For example, when you play or start a game by registering with PS Stars, you earn points. These can then be converted to unlock virtual items that appear in the PS mobile app, or saved to purchase full games later when you have the required number of points to do so. The problem is that the service is currently unavailable.
If you go to the PS app icon, you can read the following message. “PlayStation Stars is currently experiencing issues. Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working on a solution.”Since the incident, some fear that the points system could be completely shut down or even reset. The extent of the damage has yet to be determined, but in any case, the points for purchased games do not seem to have been lost. Internet users were able to verify this after some somewhat complicated manipulation.
But according to the user JazzlikeEngine783 of the forum Reddit (via PlayStationLifeStyle) there is a very simple method to view the status of your acquired PlayStation Stars points. It will take a few hours, but logically you should receive a response from Sony. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Go to the PS app on your smartphone
- Click the settings wheel and then click Privacy Settings
- Scroll down to “Data Access Request”
- Click on “Request data”
Sony will send an email with a link to open. Once opened, you should check your PlayStation Stars points history to make sure your purchases were accounted for during the outage.
