The weekend is just around the corner and there are free games on Steam and the Epic Store again! And this week it’s definitely worth taking a look at the free games, because there are some real highlights waiting for you. Strategy and Warhammer fans in particular will get their money’s worth.
As always applies: You can either keep the games forever or try them out in full for a few days.
Highlight of the week: Total War: Warhammer 3

Total War Warhammer 3: The rags fly in the epic launch trailer for Immortal Empires
Total War has been one of the best and most popular strategy series for over 20 years. Total War: Warhammer 3 was supposed to be the preliminary highlight of the series about a year ago, but technical problems and bugs caused frustration among the players.
In the meantime, however, the situation has improved significantly. With Immortal Empires, the grandiose mega-campaign that connects all three Total War Warhammer games has recently been released from the beta phase.

If you prefer action to strategy, but don’t want to do without Warhammer Fantasy: this is the right game for you! In Vermintide 2, you go through various missions in four-player co-op, mostly doing close combat with Skaven and Chaos followers, collecting loot and upgrading your characters.

WoW Dragonflight
From March 9th to March 12th, all inactive World of Warcraft accounts will be unlocked for free and upgraded to Dragonflight. In plain language this means: returnees and those who are undecided can download and play the entire game including the current addon without a subscription!
So if you’ve been wanting to try out the new Caller of the Dracthyr class and its starting area for a while, now’s your chance. The trial version is capped at character level 60, all progress is taken with the purchase.

Frostpunk
Another really good strategy: In the Frostpunk development game, you take control of a steampunk settlement that you, as the leader, have to lead through an ice age.
In addition to a demanding construction part, you also have to make difficult decisions again and again. Frostpunk is definitely at the top of the list of the best building games.

You want to hunt down survivors as a creepy horror killer? Then check out Dead by Daylight. The Steam long-running hit has been among the most played games on Steam for years and offers a truly incomparable gaming experience with its asymmetrical multiplayer games.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened
Dungeon Defenders 3 combines tower defense with action role-playing games: Here you choose a class, build towers and fight together with them against attacking waves of enemies. This can be very demanding, especially on higher difficulty levels, but it also rains heaps of loot.
