What if disabling simple options in Windows 11 was enough to optimize in-game performance and have more fluidity?
The paths of the CP are impenetrable. Microsoft has therefore determined that certain Windows 11 features can have a fairly significant impact on in-game performance, so much so that the manufacturer has just issued instructions to players to disable them at their own risk.
An understandable context for Windows 11
It is through a new support document that we can hear the news. Microsoft has identified several items that could be a cause for concern. This relates very closely to the VPM known as “Memory Integrity and the Virtual Machine Platform”. If you feel like you’re reading tech-savvy gibberish, just know that these are features that make Windows 11 more secure against threats. If this is more of a good thing, the other side of the coin is that it impacts performance in video games.
Microsoft doesn’t really go into detail on this topic, but still states that disabling these features can significantly improve in-game performance, but warns that disabling them can make the PC more vulnerable.
The instructions
So we’re telling you this is done at your own risk although there shouldn’t be any problems. Here are the steps in order. Memory Integrity is not necessarily enabled on all PCs upgraded from Windows 10. However, this technology is active by default on new systems. To find out, it’s very simple:
- Type “Windows Security” in the search bar
- Go to Device Security
- In the Memory Integrity part, simply uncheck the option
The platform for virtual machines
The other option is a bit more complex to find:
- You need to launch the “Turn Windows features on or off” tool (located in the search bar).
- Locate the “Virtual Machine Platform” entry in the list and uncheck the option if you want more performance
That’s all for now.
