Console, Microsoft, Special, teased

The first image of an Xbox console for cloud gaming?

Phil Spencer, boss of the Xbox branch, has taken to filming himself with a shelf in the background. A display in which he very often exhibits objects related to forthcoming announcements. For example, Kojima Productions’ statue of Ludens was apparently put there back then to tease Hideo Kojima’s xCloud game.

Rebelote today with an image posted to Twitter where we see a mysterious white shape clad in an Xbox logo at the top that looks like a console. It would be the machine intended only for Xbox cloud gaming. A console that relies on the player’s internet connection and the hardware they connect to at the end of the day. And with no powerful physical components required inside, it looks very compact.

This console would be codenamed Keystone. It’s rumored to cost $99 with a controller and can run games in up to 4K HDR. Note that this would result in an optimization of xCloud servers as the resolution is currently only 1080p.
