Henry Cavill’s departure from The Witcher series continues to draw a lot of ink, as does his ousting from the new DCU. Playing against Geralt of Rivia one last time in season three, Liam Hemsworth will take the torch for the next. Netflix has high hopes for this replacement, working hard to convince the most dubious. The season 4 film adaptation is not planned for a while, it will take patience to see what Chris Hemsworth’s (MCU’s Thor) little brother will really give in the role of the witcher. Liam Hemsworth has a lot to prove. After a Henry Cavill who could reach unanimity, donning the mantle of the white wolf is no easy task. The Aussie actor is aware of this and is working on the entire lore of the saga and undergoing new physical training to properly adapt to the role ahead of filming the next season of The Witcher series. Trying to reassure Netflix and the adaptation’s actors by saying it could bring some sort of renewal, many viewers and fans of the license are far from convinced of that choice. The video, created by VFX article Matthew Anthony, shows a comparison to Henry Cavill’s original scenes. While some plans are scary because the Australian actor’s face doesn’t match his predecessor’s figure, the overall result isn’t all that bad. This in no way represents what the new Geralt from The Witcher series will look like, which will no doubt be more officially believable. At least we hope so.
For their part, fans continue to sign the petition calling for Henry Cavill to return to the cast. Netflix has been formal and will stand by its position. We also recently learned that Liam Hemsworth auditioned for the role in 2018 and would have caught everyone’s attention. So much so that the American giant would have contacted him immediately without opening a new casting.
