Since the announcement of survival shooter Abandoned exclusively for PS5, things have been very quiet around the title – and that seems to have a specific and unfortunate reason.
After a long silence surrounding the mysterious Abandoned for PS5, there is now a new report from the renowned colleagues from GameSpot – but this one is not very pleasant. There it is now said that the former survival shooter hope for the new Sony console is no longer being actively worked on.
The colleagues are citing information gathered from a private Discord server run by Hasan Kahraman, Lead Developer at Blue Box Games Studios. Based on the information obtained, it states that “there is no significant evidence that Abandoned exists in any real form”.
Anyone wanting access to screenshots, animations, or a page of the game’s script had to sign a strict NDA; hence the sources would have opposed each other GameSpot
Kahraman also told this group of people that he was “actively working on Abandoned”, but over time there was simply nothing to show for it. Even self-imposed deadlines were not met. Even a performance had once been planned, but the intended day passed without there having been anything about the game at all.
In private, Kahraman is said to have finally stated that Abandoned had been put on hold for the time being because he “first had to finance the development work with a playable prologue” – but according to reports, such a prologue is a long way off.
Of the full report about the mysterious circumstances goes into much more detail and is worth a look for those who are interested. Either way: The PS5 exclusive game Abandoned seems to be anything but good at the moment.
