Lost Ark is once again struggling with problems: After there was recently a considerable shitstorm about the Argos raid, which was released too early for many players, and the game world is still populated by hordes of bots, trolls are now making life hell for other players .
On Reddit, a player now describes a prominent case of the digital hostage situation in abyss dungeons – what that means exactly and how you can defend yourself against it, we explain in this article.
YouTube troll takes gamer hostage
That happened: On Reddit, a gamer described his recent experience with what appears to be quite toxic YouTuber SwoleBenji. This had previously been through the use of cheats and other strange actions in the communities of MMOs Albion Online
The YouTuber kept his fellow players captive in the endgame abyss dungeon Alaric’s Sanctuary, which you can’t easily exit again: after being assigned to the group via matchmaking, he discarded his equipment and did not participate in the demanding boss fights.
Instead of doing anything productive, the troll used the time to read the engravings, fortress levels achieved, squad levels, and other character details Commenting on other players in a derogatory manner. Since these didn’t have a 100 percent optimized build, SwoleBenji apparently wanted them for theirs idleness
punish, as he writes in a YouTube comment.
Since the abyss dungeons are some of the hardest content in Lost Ark, the remaining players had no chance of successfully completing them. However, the players could not simply leave the dungeon again, otherwise there would have been penalties.
Even worse: When his fellow players call for the troll to be reported, he refers to his status as an Amazon partner and claims that false reporting would result in a ten-day ban.
The Reddit post describing these occurrences has since been deleted by the moderators as it was related to a

caught yourself? You can do that
According to comments on Reddit, this is not an isolated case: Many players report that they have also been taken hostage by frustrated players when a run in an abyss dungeon did not go as smoothly as planned.
If you find yourself in this situation and a player refuses to be persuaded to abort the dungeon, there is a way out. Normally you only have to exit the game with Alt + F4, but this will result in the loss of the weekly attempt of the respective dungeon.
Instead, you can simply press the escape key on your keyboard and then switch to one of your other characters. If the group can no longer successfully complete the dungeon, you will not lose the weekly attempt.
notice: Of course, you shouldn’t use this method to troll yourself or to prematurely leave your group after just one or two wipes. That’s part of the Abyss Dungeons, especially when you’re playing with random players.
