The stolen data from CD Projekt Red appears to have been reconsolidated.
Data from CD Projekt redAccording to reports, after everyone thought this would not happen, ransomware hackers started spreading online again.
In February, CD Projekt’s dilemma was considered to have been settled. At that time, it was reported that someone had purchased stolen data in a dark web auction, and it was clearly stipulated that the original leaker could not share it afterwards. It now appears that a batch of data has been returned, and only those who distributed it will not demand a large ransom this time.
According to Data Breaches, a hacker group decided to use CD Projekt’s data to promote the release of its new website, which hopes to set it as a leaking platform. The idea of the organization is to make all files public and organize a fundraising event. Users who donate ($10,000) will receive passwords for different files, which can be used at will.
The organization claims that it has access to the assets and source code of Thronebreaker, The Witcher 3, The Witcher 3 RTX (next generation), and Cyberpunk 2077. To prove that it is serious, the organization has leaked the PS4, PS5, Xbox SDK and Switch without a password.
Resetera forum member Delete12345 stated that the leak has affected 4chan, and he seems to have gained access to these SDKs.
Interestingly, the hacker left a note next to this announcement that some other more sensitive data, such as company reports, non-disclosure agreements, human resources documents, etc., are “shared with the media,” but will not be disclosed publicly.
