The gaming world is increasingly plagued by hacker attacks. Not only did Spider-Man developers Insomniac Games fall victim to a nasty cyber attack, GTA studio Rockstar Games also had to face blackmail last year. However, one of the hackers was caught and has now been sentenced BBC
What happened again?
The hacker community Lapsus$ attacked Uber, Nvidia and Rockstar Games in September last year. The 18-year-old American belongs to this group and was able to get hold of a lot of Rockstar’s data from a hotel room, armed with a laptop, cell phone and Amazon Fire TV stick.
He then contacted the company on Slack with the words: If Rockstar doesn’t contact me on Telegram within 24 hours, I will release the source code.
But that didn’t happen; instead, the hacker was arrested.
The first trailer for GTA 6 has now been released – but also a few hours earlier than planned due to a leak, which the developers say damn tragedy

The GTA 6 trailer is here and we need to talk!
The judgment
The perpetrator, who is autistic, was ordered to a detention hospital for an indefinite period of time. According to the judge, he is still highly motivated to commit further cyber crimes and therefore remains a high risk to the general public.
He should therefore remain in a secure hospital for life unless the doctors no longer believe he is a danger.
Rockstar revealed in the courtroom that the hack was her Cost 5 million dollars – not even counting the thousands of hours of additional working time.
Leak or not: Are you already looking forward to the sixth main part of Grand Theft Auto or did the official trailer not inspire you as much as many others? Feel free to write it in the comments.
