Critical Role will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year, and the next big step in actually getting the podcast out there seems to be video games.

It's no surprise that a show like Critical Role (a Dungeons & Dragons podcast starring some beloved voice actors) could succeed in this way. People love DnD, and who better to join the game than a bunch of voice actors? In the years since, various expansion packs have appeared around the world, various tie-ins have appeared, and in 2022, it even got an animated adaptation. But what next? Well, apparently it's video games, according to Rolling Stone's recent cast profile! Laura Bailey, who has been seen in games like Marvel's Spider-Man, NieR, and Uncharted series, shared on her profile that the team has “ever since our first We’ve been talking about creating a video game since we first played together.”

Actor Travis Willingham, known for his roles in series such as Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Sonic the Hedgehog, also noted that he would “say this is something we're actively pursuing. Hopefully we'll have something really exciting to share, maybe at the end of this year, maybe early 2025, just in time for our 10th anniversary, but it's definitely something we've thought about.

“We're working with different partners just to see how it feels. You know, there's a lot of upheaval in the interactive space right now. We've seen the studio kind of bear and it's trying to be smarter and figure out how we fit into more Big ecosystem.”

There isn't much time left in the year, but as Willingham said, it could be early 2025, which is plenty of time considering the show's anniversary is in March. No matter what game comes out, I'm sure it will end up being as popular as any other game out there.
