The first full trailer for the second season of Apple TV+’s Severance has been released, and it looks like there will be more mysteries to unravel this time around.

It’s been two years since the first season of Severance ended, and the constant wait for subsequent episodes has been eating away at my soul. Fortunately, Apple confirmed the show’s release date (January 17, 2025) back in July, but that doesn’t make the wait any easier. In fact, just today, Apple released a trailer for the second season of Severance, and honestly, I think it just makes things worse. This particular trailer shows Adam Scott running around Lumon (the strange fictional company his character works for), interspersed with a bunch of footage from the upcoming season.

Eventually, he finds his way back to his usual cubicle space, only to be met by some unfamiliar faces, played by Alia Shawkat, Bob Balaban, and Stefano Calanante. Considering the ending of season 2 (which I won’t spoil for you, but it was a pretty cliffhanger), it certainly makes me wonder what everyone else is up to, but you can spot the cast from season 1 scattered throughout trailer, so they’re at least apparently okay.

Returning cast includes Brit Lorre, John Turturro, Zach Cherry, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette and Trammell Tillman, Gwendoline Christie, Merritt Weaver, Robbie Benson, John Noble, Olafur Darry and Sarah Burke also join the wider cast.

Apple describes the show this way: “In Severance, Mark Scott leads a team at Lumon Industries whose employees undergo a severance procedure that surgically separates their memories into their work and personal lives. . In this daring experiment in “work-life balance,” Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his job…and himself. In Season 2, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of ignoring the severance package that leads them further down the road of misery.”

The second season of “Severance” will be released on Apple TV+ on January 17, 2025.
