Bioware’s role-playing games are known for their various love affairs. In the Mass Effect trilogy alone, there is already a whole range of potential partners with Ashley Williams, Liara T’Soni, Garrus, Kaidan and many more. But one fan favorite is missing: Jeff Moreau, better known as the Joker.
The humorous pilot of the Normandy just doesn’t want to succumb to our charm and prefers to go out with the artificial intelligence EDI in Mass Effect 3. If, after ten years, you still long for a romantic story line with Joker, you can fulfill this wish with the Mod The Hatboy Project

But if you still haven’t touched the Mass Effect trilogy, don’t fear the game. Our author Adriane only dived into the sci-fi world with the Legendary Edition this year and was pleasantly surprised:

What’s in the mod?
You can get the mod over NexusMods download. Unfortunately, the fan extension is not available for all games, only for the original version of Mass Effect 3. The Legendary Edition is not yet compatible with the mod, but a separate mod version is already in the works.
This gives you access to some new dialogue options between Joker and Shepard, which can lead to intimate bed scenes in addition to a committed relationship with the pilot. That doesn’t get in the way of the general plot though: the conversations between Joker and EDI, for example, are also rewritten so that their relationship is purely platonic in nature.

Are there about the same voice actors at work? No they are not. The voices were created using an AI, but are surprisingly close to the originals. Of course, this is only the English version. The entire mod can only be enjoyed in English until further notice.
By the way, you can only use the romance option with Joker if you play the female Shepard. According to the modder, implementing the male Shepard with all the dialogues and animations is too much work.
