On the website IMDb The project has an average rating of 7.7 stars – with over 52,000 votes.
Originally, The Killer was even classified as “too brutal” in this country and the Federal Testing Agency for Media Harmful to Minors indexed the action film. In 2015 the indexing was lifted again after 25 years.

The Killer: Action legend John Woo is re-releasing his own cult film after 35 years
What is The Killer remake about?
As announced above, John Woo is back in the director’s chair. However, the then leading actor Chow Yun-Fat is not part of the project again.
The cast therefore consists of many new but also familiar faces such as Nathalie Emmanuel (Fast & Furious 7, Game of Thrones), Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash of the Titans) and Omar Sy (Pretty Best Friends, Jurassic World).
About the plot: The mysterious assassin Zee (Nathalie Emmanuel) is feared by the Paris underworld because she is ice-cold and knows how to carry out her job with targeted precision. When her client (Sam Worthington) gives her the mission to eliminate a blind woman, the otherwise cold-blooded killer refuses. A life-and-death chase begins, because by resisting she draws the attention of a police detective (Omar Sy).
The Killer was originally scheduled to appear in 2023. Due to the Hollywood strike, production and release have been pushed back a bit.
By the way, John Woo only celebrated his big directorial comeback in 2023 with the film Silent Night – before that, things had been a little quieter around the action legend for six years.
