Valve’s next game hasn’t even been released yet, and like the company’s flagship multiplayer shooter, Counter Strike 2, it’s already riddled with cheaters.
After the competitive FPS with Counter Strike 2, Valve is looking to carve out a place for itself in the dual arena of MOBAs and hero shooters with Deadlock. Available only in playtest to one hundred thousand players for a year out of the gate, and with no official release date in sight, it does not escape the scourge of cheaters.
The curse of Counter Strike 2 hits Valve’s next game
In any multiplayer game, and especially in popular FPS games like Counter Strike 2 or Call of Duty, the threat of cheaters is always lurking like the sword of Damocles. This thing has unfortunately not escaped Deadlock, Valve’s next multiplayer title. There are many videos circulating online about this scourge that is already plaguing the upcoming MOBA/hero shooter.
Well-known cheats like an aimbot or a wallhack, impressive in titles like Counter Strike 2, are starting to invade and swarm in Deadlock. The most dramatic thing is that Valve’s next game has not yet been released or even completed. As many users point out in the Steam subreddit: ” Fraudsters lead a sad existence, there is currently not even a stake, no ranking that would justify it
This doesn’t bode well for Valve’s next multiplayer game. It also remains to be seen whether it will match the enormous popularity of Counter Strike 2 in any way. Some are skeptical, given an already saturated mix of genres: MOBA and hero shooting. Only time will tell what happens, as Deadlock currently has no set release date. Another thing that should make Valve fans happy: a possible return of Half-Life to the forefront, one way or another.
