Hello. The Helldivers 2 community failed to fulfill its last big order. Sorry I have to disturb you. Regardless, Arrow now says that all the fighting so far – the entire war’s worth – is just a prelude to the “Second Galactic War” that has just begun.
While they did iron out a lot of the bugs – enough to make Hellraiser 2’s very impressive sales numbers pale in comparison – players have been having some tough battles lately, despite the impending spawn rate revamp roll out. But for now, have the right color tenderizer ready, the second war has begun.

In a War Update posted on the Helldivers 2 Discord server, Community Manager Baskinator had the pleasure of announcing the beginning of this new era in typical Helldivers fashion – and I mean that with a lot of sarcastic humour. “After five days of intensive decommissioning, turning robots into scrap metal for use in advanced anti-tank mines, Helldivers have achieved their stated goal of two billion dead robots, 78% complete,” they wrote, adding: “This means new tactics will now continue to evade the Helldivers’ arsenal…”
So far, so normal, right? Get the load for the next point. “The war has now escalated into what is officially known as the ‘Second Galactic War.’ All the conflict leading up to this was just a well-planned special operation,” the community manager declared. “Recruits are being trained to strengthen the ranks of the SEAF, And Hell Divers are tasked with guarding these training facilities so that each recruit can receive rigorous 72 hours of basic training.”
So, yes, you see, a whole new war looks likely to be a satire on the way the Russian government refers to its 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
The final point involves the new major command, which requires players to maintain control of the adventure planets of Irispas, Vernanwells, Hiss, and Angel in order to be able to build those massive SEAF training facilities. People on Reddit believe those recruits being trained might be a squad of NPCs, but who knows.
Perhaps the next galactic war will be more like the Clone Wars from Star Wars than the base game, which some Helldiver 2 modders have been working on recently.
