Just a few days ago, Pathea Games finally revealed what’s next for the My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandstone series, and of course, the third installment will be another open-world sim; My time at EvershineThe sequel appears to be one of Pathea’s most ambitious projects to date, and it’s once again asking for fan support via Kickstarter to help it meet and exceed the expectations of both the developer and future players.

Speaking of the source of funding for the project, Pathea Games revealed that the budget for the game is between 7 and 8 million US dollars (My Time at Sandrock’s previous budget totaled 12 million US dollars, including Kickstarter fundraising commitments); Kickstarter projects allow developers to accumulate additional funds from fans who want to support the game, thereby adding more and more features to the game.

“Through the development of My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandstone, we learned a lot and discovered areas for improvement,” Pathea Games wrote in a post on Reddit. “We will use all of this experience to enhance the game’s content and overall quality as we make our third game.”

“We’re confident My Time at Evershine will be a game you’ll enjoy, and we hope you’ll continue to support us on this journey.”

From a direct look at the game, My Time at Evershine already expands on its predecessor in many ways. Pathea Games takes review and player feedback very seriously, and that’s evident from the plans the developer has for its latest project. Perhaps one of the most anticipated features is the ability to play the story campaign in multiplayer with friends; My Time at Evershine promises to be able to host up to four players.

Beyond that, while you’ll still be a builder in My Time at Evershine, just like you were in My Time at Sandrock, as a governor you’ll have more power and control over your city. You’ll be able to construct buildings yourself, recruit settlers, tame different territories and expand your territory, all in order to protect your people – the Alliance – from the threat of the Duvos Empire. That said, you’ll need to make sure you take care of your settlers, too.

My Time at Evershine plans to be more adventurous than its predecessor, offering more player autonomy and responsibility, and providing long-time fans with new and improved features they’ve been asking for. There are more romantic characters, of course, and more notably, the game’s art style is more mature, which I’m personally very happy about.

While it looks like players are well prepared for what to expect in My Time at Evershine, it looks like developer Pathea Games has more work to do when it comes to developing this ambitious sequel. Are you looking forward to the latest installment in the My Time series? Let us know.
