Adam Williams, former head writer of Star Wars Eclipse at Quantic Dream has just announced the founding of Republic Games, its own development studio. With financial support from KRAFTON, publisher of PUBG and Tthe Callisto protocol, Williams is embarking on an ambitious project: a dark and sophisticated open-world role-playing game that promises to delight fans of classic fantasy.
An already very ambitious game from a former Star Wars Eclipse
Republic Games’ first game promises to be unique. Williams describes a universe inspired by both 1984 d’Orwell and you Lord of the rings by Tolkien. In this world, an authoritarian regime brutally enforces its vision and suppresses all resistance. But a rebel group resists and tries to reveal the truth and break the power of the tyrants.
Republic Games wants to return the role-playing game to its former glory, with a more immersive approach and decisions that really impact the story.
A familiar cast and new ambition
For this first project, Williams surrounds himself with familiar faces. Bryan and Amelia Dechart, who voiced the characters in Detroit: Become Human, Join the adventure and play new roles in this new universe. As Star Wars Eclipse continues development at Quantic Dream for an expected release in 2026, Williams and Republic Games hope to offer RPG fans an outstanding title with a compelling story and true freedom of choice.
