News JVTech After taking over Twitter, Elon Musk announces the color with a brand new feature
While Elon Musk bought Twitter last October, the changes in the social network are already being felt. With the launch of this brand new feature, the billionaire seems intent on building a Twitter in his own image and sensibilities.
The new Twitter feature adds a new feature
After redesigning posts on Twitter by changing the display order of like, retweet, and comment interactions, Elon Musk introduces Twitter to crypto.
A huge cryptocurrency lover, the billionaire continues to show his interest in the industry through his businesses. After Elon Musk accepted DOGE and Bitcoin as a means of payment at SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk is taking on the Twitter case with a new feature.
In fact, it is now possible to get the real-time price of cryptocurrencies directly on Twitter. At the moment, only the two largest cryptocurrencies in the ranking are affected by this innovation, namely Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Still, to everyone’s surprise, DOGE coin, Elon Musk’s favorite crypto, is not supported by the new Twitter feature.
A Wall Street-like Twitter
To get real-time prices of cryptos, all you have to do is type Bitcoin or Ethereum in the social network search bar. Once validated, as usual, we find the top of the topics related to the two terms, but also a curve that shows the price of the digital currency in real time.
This data is provided by the well-known trading platform RobinHood, with which Twitter appears to have entered into a partnership agreement. In fact, when you click on this curve, Twitter takes you directly to the American financial broker’s page. In addition to Bitcoin and Ethereum, it is also possible to query the price of various stocks on traditional stock exchanges such as Google, Amazon or Tesla.
This decision may seem surprising as the price of both cryptocurrencies and stocks has been falling for 1 year. However, it looks like Elon Musk has a plan.
More than a financialization of the platform, Twitter seems to be moving towards an “alternative Google”. In fact, this initiative appears to be trending towards that famous “general purpose application” that Musk has been talking about since acquiring the platform.
Acquisition of Twitter accelerates development of X, the everything app

In his opinion, Twitter could be a proving ground to test and develop new features in preparation for deploying “X”:
“Twitter probably accelerates X by 3 to 5 years, but I could be wrong,” he announced of his networks.
In this sense, after the addition of this new feature, several users in the cryptocurrency world are impatient for the next step. Some hope to see crypto payments on Twitter in the next few months with the implementation of a native token. The topic cannot be ruled out, since the platform already supports crypto with the “Bitcoin Tips” donation system.
