Love letter to a certain type of iconic arcade racing game OutRun, 80's Overdrive offers a career mode allowing you to race against other drivers to unlock new tracks, buy new cars but also change their engine, chassis and tires to improve speed, acceleration, braking and driving . The time trial mode takes up exactly the concept of a OutRun and therefore challenges us to swallow as many kilometers as possible while limiting errors as much as possible before the seconds run out.
To slightly improve the lifespan, a track generator is also available and allows you to share your own tracks with other users through a code generated by the game. The content of this Switch port seems however identical to what offered already the game on 3DS, as evidenced by the presence of 6 racing cars, 8 visual themes and 13 pieces of retro music. Insane Code did not communicate the price of 80's Overdrive on Switch but the game is sold for 9.99 euros on 3DS (4.99 euros in this case with the promotion of the moment).
