Helldivers 2’s latest Major Order was indeed down to the wire, but considering how grim things looked earlier this week, the community ended up pulling off an impressive victory. The celebrations aren’t over yet, with Arrows indicating some evacuation missions that have proven nearly impossible should soon be adapted.
Yes, after much debate about the difficulty hardcore gamers had in trying to convince all their casual friends that they needed to participate, the same tenacity that killed a bunch of bugs the week before helped people successfully defend ten planets. In the near future, their nightmares may not feature so many evacuation mission flashbacks. You love seeing it.

As people celebrated on the Helldivers 2 Discord server, community manager Twinbeard gave them even more reasons to get hyped. They wrote: “To everyone who provided feedback about how the droid citizen evacuation mission is impossible on higher difficulty levels, we 100% agree and will therefore be adjusting these in the near future!”
Considering that – shortly after the Overhaul victory – this led to a bunch of players declaring yesterday one of the best days of their hell-diving (and probably real) lives, you can probably imagine how much fun they’ve had performing these missions It’s been a few months. Basically, the problem doesn’t necessarily seem to be that you can’t just hand the bots off to their bottom if you’re willing to hone in very hard and/or work out the right strategy – more importantly, it usually takes a huge amount of effort to get the job done s hard work. Killing their fun.
A bunch of people on Reddit half-jokingly said they wouldn’t be surprised if Arrowhead shamelessly found some way to make their lives more difficult as part of these planned changes, well, we’ll just have to wait and see . There’s also some debate as to whether the aforementioned Planetary Defense Major Order that the community just completed was specifically designed to provide Arrow with more data on these missions – as it resulted in people playing a lot of these missions.
To be fair, when the game lets you do things like Factory Strider parkour in your spare time, maybe having to do some crappy missions from time to time isn’t such a bad trade-off.
